Building a Digital Twin

A digital twin

Ever felt like if you had a digital clone that you or your team could ask questions of, you’d be able to get answers faster?

That’s the idea behind a digital twin.

A digital twin is a an agent armed with all of your knowledge which you can chat to at any time.

How to build a digital twin

There are a variety of ways to achieve this — from dedicated tools like delphi to using custom GPTs in chatGPT and bundling everything you’ve ever written into them.

As with all of AI, you’ll want to explore a few options to see what fits your level of technical expertise, your budget and your needs. You’ll also want to consider where you’re comfortable putting your data — the implications of uploading your personality to a server get pretty sci-fi pretty fast…

But regardless of which direction you go in, within a couple of days you should be able to get to a level of accuracy and confidence that you can start using it in earnest.

How might it benefit me in my work?

There are a few useful ways to utilise your new doppelganger:

Chat with your digital twin to help you move forwards

  • Ask it questions about your work
  • Ask it to help you write
  • Ask it to help you with your research
  • Ask it to help you with your ideas
  • Ask it to help you with your projects
  • Ask it to help you with your life

Remove yourself as a blocker for others

  • Give it access to your knowledge base so that it can answer questions for others
  • Give it access to your product management tools so that it can help you manage your projects
  • Give it access to your email so that it can help you manage your inbox

What tools will I need?

You’ll be able to build this with basic AI tools like:

  • ChatGPT (pro subscription for custom GPTs)
  • Claude (pro subscription for projects and enough tokens)
